de Seyfried, J. T., B.Sc., M.E. Managing Director, Wigan Coal & Iron Co. Ltd., in succession to J. F. Gillott. Managing Director of The Wigan Coal Corporation Ltd.; Director of the following companies: The Lancashire Steel Corporation Ltd.; Rylands Bros. Ltd.: Pearson & Knowles (Engineering) Co. Ltd.; The Northern Employers' Mutual Indemnity Co. Ltd.; Chairman, The Caucasian Manganese Syndicate Ltd. Formerly Agent, Engineer and Manager of Llay Main Collieries. Ltd., Gresford; Manager, Bullcroft Collieries, and Agent, Oxcroft Collieries and of Wyken & Craven Collieries. Warwickshire. Toured Germany, France and Poland for Parliamentary Commission on Spontaneous Combustion in Coal Mines, 1913, and subsequently collaborated on report on practicability of hydraulic stowage in British coalfields. In 1918 was in charge of the Technical Administration of the Coal Mines Control Agreement, and Technical Adviser to the Conjoint Branch of the Inland Revenue and Home Office on Mining Matters.
