Biographical Notes

Seager, Sir William Henry, D.L. Son of the late William Seager, of Cardiff. Is Chairman of the Ropner Shipbuilding Co., Stockton-on-Tees, and a Director of the Garforth Colliery Co., Leeds, and the Old Silkstone Collieries Ltd., Barnsley; Vice-chairman of the North of England P.& I. Association, and a member of the Executive Council of the Chamber of Shipping of the United Kingdom. Is Managing-Director of the Tempus Shipping Co. Ltd., the Victory Shipping Co. Ltd., W. H. Seager & Co. Ltd., Sir William Seager & Sons Ltd., Seager's Shipping Supplies Ltd., and associated with many commercial enterprises in the Bristol Channel. Governor of the King Edward VII Hospital, and the Royal Hamadryad Seamen's Hospital; Treasurer of "John Cory" Soldiers and Sailors' Rest, Vice-president of the Cardiff Liberal Association, and Vice-president of the Cardiff Naval Brigade. Knighted, 1918.

Governor of the Cardiff Royal Infirmary, and the Royal Hamadryad Seamen's Hospital. Vice-President of the Cardiff Naval Brigade. Knighted 1918. Ex-President, Cardiff Chamber of Commerce. M.P., Cardiff East, 1918-1922. Ex-Chairman of the Cardiff and British Channel Shipowners' Association. Merchant Representative of Cardiff Chamber of Commerce on Lloyd's Register of Shipping. High Sheriff for Monmouthshire, 1932-1933. Address: 60, Newport Road, Cardiff.

Governor of the Cardiff Royal Infirmary and the Royal Hamadryad Seamen's Hospital. Vice-President of the Cardiff Naval Brigade. Knighted, 1918. Ex-(2 years)-President, Cardiff Chamber of Commerce. M.P., Cardiff East, 1918-1922. Ex-Chairman of the Cardiff and Bristol Channel Shipowners' Association. Merchant Representative of Cardiff Chamber of Commerce on Lloyd's Register of Shipping. Chairman, Cardiff Pilotage Authority. High Sheriff for Monmouthshire, 1932-1933. Has two sons and one daughter living. One son killed in the Great War.
