Biographical Notes
Pratt, R. S., M.C. Area General Manager, No. 1 Area, Northern (N. & C.) Division, National Coal Board. Educated at Durham School and Durham University, where he took a B.Sc. in mining engineering. From 1938 to Nationalisation, was Agent and Director of the North Walbottle Coal Co., Ltd., Northumberland. In 1950, became General Manager of Mid-Northumberland Area of the Northern (N. & C.) Division, and returned to South Northumberland, now No. 1 Area, as General Manager in 1953.
