Biographical NotesParker, W. Campbell, M.I.Min.E. Area General Manager, Central East Area, Scottish Division, National Coal Board. Educated at Lenzie Academy and the Royal Technical College, Glasgow. In 1930, became General Manager of South Ayrshire Collieries (1928) Ltd., at Girvan. At Vesting date, was appointed Sub-Area Production Manager of the Lugar-Douglas part of the Ayr and Dumfries Area. Two years later, was promoted to be Area Production Manager of the Central East Area. When the Ayr and Dumfries Area was subdivided in January, 1952, became Area General Manager of the East Ayr Area and in June, 1952, was transferred to be Area General Manager of the Central East Area. Member of the Association of Mining, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, of the National Association of Colliery Managers, and also a Member of the Council of the Mining Institute of Scotland.
