Biographical NotesNoel-Baker, The Rt. Hon. Philip, M.P. Minister of Fuel and Power. Born November, 1889. Educated at Bootham School, Yorkshire, before going to Haverford College, Pennsylvania for a year and then to King's College, Cambridge, In 1914, appointed Vice-Principal of Ruskin College. Awarded the Mons Star, Italian Silver Medal pro valore militare and the Italian Croce di Guerra. In 1942 was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport, in 1945 became Minister of State and a Privy Councillor. Secretary of State for Air in 1946 and Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations in 1947. Appointed Minister of Fuel and Power on 1st March, 1950.
