Biographical Notes
Machin, C., Production Director, North-Eastern Division, National Coal Board, previously was Area General Manager, No. 4 Carlton Area. Born in Stoke-on-Trent in 1909, and was educated at Hanley High School and Stoke-on-Trent Technical College. Worked in the pits in West Yorkshire and in 1940 became colliery manager for the Moira Colliery Co., South Derbyshire. On nationalisation was appointed Planning Engineer, then Production Manager in South Staffs Area until 1950. Address: The Lodge, South Parade, Doncaster.
