Biographical Notes

Mitchelson, Sir Archibald, Bart. Head of the finance and issuing house of Mitchelson Partners Ltd. His interests are widespread and varied and among the numerous companies with which he is associated, he is chairman of the following - Old Silkstone Collieries Ltd. (Yorkshire); Garforth Collieries Ltd. (Yorkshire); Allerdale Coal Co. Ltd. (Cumberland) and Anglo-Continental Guano Works Ltd. (London). Also a director of D. Davis & Sons Ltd. (Glamorgan), and North's Navigation Collieries Ltd. (Glamorgan), and International Coal Co. Ltd., (Glamorgan). Among his more recent ventures he has become largely interested in the development of the Porcupine goldfield of Ontario, Canada.

Mitchelson, Sir Archibald, Bart. Born 1878. Was intimately associated with the late Lord Rhondda in connection with many of his imporant industrial enterprises. His interests are widespread and varied and among the numerous companies with which he is associated he is Chairman of the following: Old Silkstone Collieries Ltd. (Yorkshire); Goldthorpe Collieries Ltd. (Barnsley, Yorks.); Allerdale Coal Co. Ltd. (Cumberland); Anglo-Continental Guano Works Ltd. (London); Globe Shipping Co. Ltd. (Cardiff); Hazlewood Shipping Co. Ltd. (Cardiff); Genatosan Ltd.; Whancliffe Silkstone Colliery Co. Ltd. Private Address: Holme Park, Rotherfield, Sussex.
