Biographical Notes

Gibson, Finlay A. Secretary The Monmouthshire and Sooth Wales Coal Owners Association. In service of the Association 32 years ago. Was appointed Assistant Secretary 1912, and Secretary 1916. He also was Secretary of Monmouthshire and South Wales Coke Ovens and By-product Works Association; joint secretary of the Board of Conciliation for the Coal Trade of Monmouthshire and South Wales. Hon. Secretary of the South Wales Chamber of Commerce and Coal Owners' Association General Committee, which deals with all matters relating to dock charges, dock delays, etc., at the Bristol Channel ports. Member of the Executive Council of the Mining Association of G reat Britain and of various committees of that Association. Director of the Cardiff and Newport Wagon Company. Author of various articles on the coal trade.

Secretary, South Wales Coal Shipment Advisory Committee, which deals with matters relating to shipment of coal at the Bristol Channel ports; Joint Hon. Secretary, Miners' Welfare Fund for South Wales; Joint Hon. Secretary of the Miners' Convalescent Home, Talygarn. Member of the Executive Council of the Mining Association of Great Britain, and of various committees of that Association. Author of various articles on the coal trade, and one of the most able exponents of coal trade economics in the country. Private Address: Glan-y-nant, Fairwater, Cardiff.
