Biographical Notes
Foot, Robert, O.B.E., M.C. Educated at Windsor. Chairman of the Mining Association of Great Britain, President of the Coal Utilisation Research Association and of the Coal Utilisation Joint Council. Retook up his present appointment in May. 1944, after having been Joint DirectorGeneral and subsequently Director-General of the B.B.C. since 1942. Previous to that he had been with the Gas Light and Coke Company since 1919 and became its General Manager in 1929. Served with the R.F.A. in France in 1914-1918. Twice mentioned in despatches. Author of "A Plan for Coal." Address: 53, Parliament Street, London, S.W.1.
