Biographical Notes
Edington, Malcolm D., Carbonisation Director, Durham Division, National Coal Board since 1955. Born in 1905 and educated at Mexborough and Sheffield University. From 1923-1938 was a chemist at Manvers Main Colliery and Londonderry Collieries. From 1939-1942 was engaged on the construction of new coke ovens for Simon Carves Ltd. In 1952 became General Manager of the Carbonisation Dept., Durham Division. In 1957 was President of the Coke Ovens Managers' Association.
