Biographical NotesDelevingne, Sir Malcolm, K.C.B., K.C.V.O. Chairman of the Safety in Mines Research Board since September, 1939. From 1903 to the creation of the Mines Dept. in 1920, was in charge of the Dept. of the Rome Office which dealt with mining matters. Gave evidence before the Royal Commission of 1906 (and later before Lord Sankey's Commission) and was closely associated with the passage of the Coal Mines Act of 1911. Member of the Royal Commission on Safety in Coal Mines which reported in 1938. Address : Safety in Mines Research Board, Ministry of Fuel and Power, Dean Stanley Street, London, S.W.1.
