Biographical Notes

David, Major E. Ivor Chief Electrical Engineer Powell Duffryn Steam Coal Company, Limited. Was educated at Pengam Grammar School and Liverpool College. Completed his training with Francis Morton & Company; Joseph Healey & Company; P. Baker & Company; North Western Hematite Steel Company. Was appointed Steel Inspector and Testor to Ebbw Vale Steel, Iron and Coal Company, 1900. 1900-1903, Pupil and Assistant with S. W. Allen, Esq., M.I.M.E., consulting engineer. 1903-1905, Cardiff University, engineering section. First page prizeman for three years. 1905-1910, Brush Electrical Engineering Company. Experimental Enginner and Technical Instructor to premium pupils. 1910-1914, British Thomson-Houston Co., power and mining department, in charge of mining section. Later in special engineering department in charge of all special engineering work for mining. 1914-1916, Engineer and Manager for South Wales branch B.T.H.Co, 1916-1919, Royal Flying Corps, afterwards the Royal Air Force, in charge of layout and enginnering equipment of No2. 1 and 2 Aircraft Repair Depots in France, and the Independent Air Force Depot. Gazetted Major June, 1918. May, 1919 November 1919, Manager Cardiff branch, British Thomson-Houston Co. Ltd. Novemeber 1919-present date, chief Electrical Engineer to the Powell Duffryn Steam Coal Company Ltd. Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, Associate of American Institute of Elctrical Engineers, Member of the South Wales Institute of Engineers, Member of the Rugby Engineering Society.

David, Major E. Ivor, M.I.E.E., M.A.I.E.E., M.A.M.E.E. M.I.M.E. Late Chief Electrical Engineer, Powell Duffryn Steam Coal Co. Ltd. Now Consulting Engineer specialising in colliery power schemes. Was educated at Pengam Grammar School, Liverpool College and Cardiff University College. Five years in charge of experimental department of the Brush Electrical Engineering Company ; five years as Commercial Engineer at the British Thomson Houston Company's works at Rugby; two years as Engineer and Manager for the British Thomson Houston Company's South Wales branch. War service in Royal Air Force. Eight years as Chief Electrical Engineer to the Powell Duffryn Steam Coal Company. Now Consulting Engineer to the Amalgamated Anthracite Collieries Ltd., The Tareni Colliery Co., Pontardawe. Vice-President, Association of Mining Electrical Engineers. Address: 20, Wordsworth Avenue, Cardiff.

Charge of experimental department of the Brush Electrical Engineering Company; Commercial Engineer at the British Thomson Houston Company's works at Rugby; Engineer and Manager of the British Thomson Houston Company's South Wales branch. War service in Royal Air Force. Eight years as Chief Electrical Engineer to the Powell Duffryn Steam Coal Company. President, South Wales Institute of Engineers. 1938, and President of Association of Mining Electrical Engineers, 1931. At present serving in R.A.F.V.R. Address: 54 Llanedeyrn Road, Cardiff.

President South Wales Institute of Engineers, 1938, and President of Association of Mining Electrical Engineers, 1931. Served in R.A.F.V.R., Air Ministry, for the past three years ; now transferred to the Ministry of Fuel and Power. Address: 54, Llanedeyrn Road, Cardiff.
