Biographical Notes
Caseley, J. R., C.B.E. Director of Production, Opencast Executive, National Coal Board. Born in 1898, and graduated in civil engineering at King's College, London. When opencast mining was transferred from the Ministry of Fuel and Power to the National Coal Board on April 1st, 1952, was appointed to be Director of Production of the Board's Opencast Executive. Had previously been Deputy Director of Opencast Coal Production, Ministry of Works, in 1942 ; Director of Technical Services, Ministry of Fuel and Power, in 1949 ; and Director of Production, Ministry of Fuel and Power, in 1950. Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a member of the Institute of Structural Engineers.
