Biographical Notes

Charlton, T. S., M.Sc., J.P., M.I.C.E., M.I.M.E., M.I.M.M., F.G.S. Managing Director of the Cottonwood Collieries Also on the Boards of the United Westminster and Wrexham Collieries, Ltd., Rotherham Collieries Association, Syntholeum, Ltd., and the Coke Producers' Federation. A member of the National Coal Board, Past-President of the National Association of Colliery Managers and a member of the Council of the Institution of Mining Engineers. After gaining experience in South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and South Wales coalfields and filling managerial positions in Sooth Yorkshire and North Staffordshire, Mr. Charlton went to Gresford to reopen the colliery after the explosion of 1934 and left there in 1939 to fill his present position. Address : The Cottonwood Collieries Co., Ltd., Wombwell, near Barnsley.
