Has been Chairman of the West Yorkshire Owners' Association for fourteen years. Member of the West Riding County Council from 1890-1920, during the last fifteen years of which he was an Alderman. Justice of the Peace for the West County of Yorkshire and for the Borough of Dewsbury.
