Biographical Notes

Braithwaite, G. H., B.Sc.(Mining). Area General Manager, No. 4 Area, Durham Division, National Coal Board. Born in 1906 and educated at Sunderland Bede Collegiate School. in 1930 he joined Forster Raw and Partners, Consulting Mining Engineers. In 1936, appointed Manager by the Wingate Coal Co. Ltd. and from 1946 until Vesting Date was Deputy Agent with the Priestman Collieries Ltd. On nationalisation became Agent of "C" Group, No. 6 Area, Northern Division and from 1950-59 was Production Manager, No. 1 Area, Durham Division.
