Biographical Notes
Bewick, C., Area General Manager, No. 3 (North Northumberland) Area, Northern (N. & C.) Division since 1957. Born in 1903. Apprenticed at Seghill Colliery, Northumberland and awarded the Mining Diploma Certificate at Durham University, In 1940 became Manager of Hauxley Colliery and in 1942 was appointed Manager at Broomhill and Hauxley Collieries. On nationalisation, became Agent to the Ashington, Linton, Pegswood and Stobswood Collieries and in 1950 was appointed Production Manager of the North Northumberland Area.
