Biographical NotesBayliss, Alderman W., C.B.E., J.P. Part-time Member of the National Coal Board. Started work at Nailstone Wood Colliery, Leicestershire, at the age of 12, and has been connected with the industry ever since. An official of the Notts. Area of the National Union of Mineworkers for 20 years, and retired in December, 1951, after five years as President.
