Legal proceedings were taken against the agent and manager of Seaton Delaval Colliery, Northumberland, for breaches of Sections 51, 63 and 67 of the Coal Mines Act. The cases against the agent were dismissed, and in that against the manager, for failing to keep a sufficicent supply of timber in certain parts of the mine, he was convicted and fined. The cases against bot under Sections 63 and 67 of the Act were adjourned sine die
