On May 6th the owner of Rumby Hill Colliery, Durham, was prosecuted for breaches of Section 14, 65 and 75, and 80 of the Coal Mines Act, 1911, Clause 1(a) of the Explosives in Coal Mines Order, 1913, and Section 21(1) of the Coal Mines Regulation Act, 1887. The defendant was convicted upon all five charges and fined £5 in each case
