Mills, Ralph Hogg, aged 43, Labourer, Deceased was placing stone on a bench ready for a steam crusher to operate on when he knocked or scraped off some skin from one of the fingers of his left hand. He mentioned the matter to the foreman who was near him at the time. He finished his shift and worked the next two days. His fingers became painful and the pain extended up his arm. On October 15, his doctor found blood poisoning had set in and he was sent to Newcastle Infirmary on the day where he died on November 11., ( accident: 17 Oct 1907) |

Mitchell, Anthony, he was taking waggons from GrahamsleyÆs Colliery to the cinder ovens. The waggons were being let down an incline by a rope attached to a stationary engine. He was tightening the brake with a strap and had his weight on it; the strap broke and he fell down. His left arm was run over and badly crushed. He was taken home, where the surgeon amputated the arm, and he began to improve, but his condition worsened and he died on the evening of the 18th, ( accident: 15 Jun 1853) |
