Little, John, aged 54, Foreman Labourer, While engaged removing the overburden of the quarry, which consisted of stiff red clay 9 feet thick, with a few stones in it, deceased had undercut a length of 6 yards to a depth of from 6 to 9 inches, and was so engaged when suddenly a mass of clay — practically the whole height and width — fell away, and part of it caught him and broke his neck. The weather had been very wet. |
