Hannah, George, aged 15, Ore Picker, deceased was using a long crowbar to lever a loaded wagon off the weighbridge when he was caught between the buffers of the loaded and an empty wagon which was being pushed into position on the weighbridge; two men and a boy were pushing the empty wagon, and they rashly came to the conclusion that deceased was out of the way without actually ascertaining if it was so

Hardy, George, aged 40, Hewer, He with his brother opened a small colliery on their own account and were working at some old pillars close to the outcrop. He was spiling through an old bord room and had set a plank on a middle prop beneath the spiling timber. He was preparing to put props under the end of the plank when the whole roof collapsed and buried him up

Harwick, Edward, aged 33, [Not employed], he was fatally injured while gathering coal on the beach near Dawdon Colliery. A witness said the group of men had heard the bottom board of a waggon drop at the top - 60 feet above them - and the stoen fell among them striking Hardwick. When a waggon was about to be tipped, the teemers always shouted a warning to the men below

Higgins, Patrick, aged 22, Labourer, quarrying operations on rather an extensive scale were being carried on at this slag heap, with the view of recovering scrap metal; deceased was working with his father and others, near an overhanging mass of slag, which eventually fell, and buried him; this particular place was known to be unsafe, and shortly before the accident deceased and his father were moved by the foreman some distance from the dangerous point, but the fall spread further than was expected

Hutchinson, Christiana, aged 4, [Not employed], On the afternoon of Saturday 13th March, Christiana Hutchinson, aged 4, was knocked down and "completely cut to pieces by five loaded coke trucks, which were being drawn up Page Bank incline. The trucks, which are drawn by a standing engine at the bank road, were about 150 yards from the top of the incline when the man who was riding on the front end observed the child suddenly make her appearance on the line, but he was unable to either attract her attention or get her out of the way. The child was on a visit to her grandfather, whose house is close by ; and had strayed on the line."

Hutchinson, William, aged 13, Letter Carrier, he was employed at White-le-Head and Tanfield Collieries and was riding on a set of trucks between the two collieries when he was crushed between two of them, (accident: 27 Jan 1882)
