On May 25th an accident occurred at Chester South Moor Colliery belonging to Messrs. The Priestman Collieries, Limited. Three 10-ton trucks were being filled. The first becoming full, deceased's marrow knocked out the chock which was under the wheel, and deceased knocked out the chock from under the wheel of the second truck. The first truck did not move freely, so deceased went forward and putting his shoulder against the right side buffer tried to shove it away. Whilst he was thus engaged, the second truck moved forward silently and crushed him between itself and the first truck. Had deceased replaced the chock under the wheel of the second truck before applying himself to the first, his life would have been saved.
