Description

No. 7 on the list occurred at Browney Colliery, belonging to Messrs. Bell Brothers, Limited, on the 11th of February about 3 o'clock p.m., causing the death of John Dodds, a screen boy. His duty was to clean the coals in the best coal truck, but he had, without permission, left his work and gone between two trucks which were being filled with nuts on another line altogether. Three empty waggons were being let down at the time, which he did not notice, they joined the two he was in between, and so severely injured him that he died on the following day.
