No. 3 in the list. This accident occurred in Stirling's No. 5 mine on the 6th February, in a very high working, by a piece of ore falling from the roof. From evidence given at the inquest, this piece of ore does not appear to have been sounded for ut least a week, the reason of this being that the place was awkward to get at. Probably if the ore had been sounded it would have been found to have been unsafe.
