Carnegie, William, aged 56, Joiner, was descending with Kell in the same cage ; he fell some distance with the cage, bit was not thrown out, he died from the shock about two hours later

  

Kell, William, aged 49, Shifter, while descending in a cage in back shift it struck on a bunton at Busty hanging-on, then fell away, and Kell was thrown out and fell to the bottom of the pit, about 40 yards, Buried: South Church Churchyard
