On January 7th, at Long Framlington, Northumberland, and January 16th, at Midgeholme, near Brampton in Cumberland ;— at the former, an unfortunate person belonging to the colliery, and employed about the top of the pit, by sheer inadvertence, fell down the shaft as he was walking backwards, assisting to carry past some timber ; — and he at Midgeholme, also belonging to the colliery, was deceived by the glimmering of the pit lights and a smoky shaft.
