Dinnington CollieryMiscellaneous Notes and IncidentsA shot in coal was prepared and attempted to be exploded by a patent squib. The shot hung fire, and after waiting ten minutes the injured man, a hewer, went back, and hearing the squib "run" he sprang back and injured himself against the side of the place.
