Company Notes

Report on 10th April 1929: Amalgamation Of Colliery Companies: The Railway and Canal Commission Court — Mr. Justice MacKinnon, Sir E. Tindal Atkinson, K.C., and Sir Lewis Coward, K.C. — granted an unopposed application by the Seaton Deleval Coal Company, Limited, and the Cramlington Coal Company, Limited, for the sanction of a scheme for the total amalgamation of the two companies, framed in accordance with the provisions of Part L of the Mining Industry Act, 1926. The collieries of the two companies are situated near Seaton Deleval and Cramlington, in Northumberland, and lie adjacent to each other. Each colliery produces the same class of coal, which is transported over the same private railway line to wharves at Howdon Dock, on the Tyne.
