Company Notes

Registered – November 6, 1876, and acquired from W. Mulcaster, and others the St Helens Colliery and Brickworks, in the parishes of Camerton and Flimby, Cumberland, comprising 1,846 acres and including plant, inclines and railway sidings. The consideration was £35,100 in fully-paid ordinary £5 shares. The total area of land and sea coal royalties is now about 7,000 acres.

Capital – £150,000, in 228 five per cent. cumulative preference and 29,772 ordinary shares of £5 each; 20,388 ordinary shares are issued and fully paid.

Debentures – £14,700 five per cent, first, part of £25,000 authorised, and £26,500 five per cent. second.

Recent Dividends – For 1913-14, 8 per cent.; 1914-15, 8 per cent.; 1915-16, 15 per cent.; 1916-17, 12½ per cent. ; 1917-18, 12½ per cent. No later figures available.

Accounts – Made up annually to June 30, and issued to shareholders only.

Transfer form, common; fee 2s. 6d. Voting power, one vote for every £1 of capital held ; no member entitled to more than 10,000 votes.
