Bartram, John, 22 May 1913, aged 23, Miner, deceased and two others were working in a split 11 feet wide and 4 yards in; a quantity of clay fell from the roof between the face and the last balk; the deputy had ordered them to get the clay down; the men evidently wanted to fill some loose stone first

      

Parkin, Thomas, 17 Jun 1913, aged 52, Miner, deceased and his mate had fired a shot in their working place, which either knocked out some sprags holding up the side close to, or shook it to the extent that it rolled out on to deceased whilst he was cleaning the road of debris, before the place had been properly examined, after the shot was fired
