| | |  | | | | Greaves, George, 16 May 1901, aged 60, Miner, Deceased and two other men were retimbering an old drift, making it about 6 feet high by 6 feet wide. They were putting in a fork under one end of a headtree, when the side gave way and Greaves was buried. The place was apparently being carefully worked, but the roof and sides consisted of dry gravelly ore which, once let loose, soon filled the place. An official inspection had been made during the shift [Inspection made & inquest attended] |
