| | | | | | | Horan, William, 08 Feb 1903, aged 34, Mason's Labourer, Deceased had no fixed abode. After leaving a public house about 9 p.m. on a Sunday night he was decapitated on the Seaton Burn Coal Co.'s private railway by a locomotive (going tender first) and workmen's carriages passing over him. The turnpike road crosses the railway at a level crossing near the point and a watchman is stationed there on week days but not on Sundays. The railway is a very old one and is much used by pedestrians. |

Notice boards prohibiting trespassing are exhibited on the railway, but the public use it constantly. |
