Denwood, Gladstone, 12 Jan 1903, aged 14, Coupler, While deceased was in the act of coupling tubs at a flat in the Brockwell seam a large stone fell from the roof right across the place upon him. The stone appeared to be supported by a baulk under its centre which was in turn resting on a prop at each end; one set on the floor and the other on a canch. There appeared to be some likelihood that one of the props had been displaced, possibly by being struck by a pony's limbers. The Local Inspectors reported that in their opinion the occurrence was "purely accidental."
