Byrne, Lawrence, 23 Mar 1910, (accident: 21 Mar 1910), aged 58, Miner, Delayed explosion of blasting gelatine. Deceased waited outside the working for 25 minutes after lighting the fuse; the shot exploded just as he got back

      

Dixon, David, 17 Nov 1914, aged 25, Labourer, deceased was engaged in trailing ore from a hopper, or shoot; the hopper is an inclined plane over 100 feet long, at an angle of about 45 degrees; during the course of the shift he went up the hopper a distance of 10 or 12 feet to liberate some ore which had stuck; by some means he slipped into the hopper, and was covered by fine ore and was suffocated; he was alone at the time, and was not missed until upwards of an hour later

      

McLean, Isaac John, 15 Aug 1908, aged 15, Locomotive fireboy, while assisting to shunt waggons he sat on a brake lever and was jerked off

      

Sloan, Hugh, 19 Jan 1910, aged 25, Labourer, A runaway bogie knocked out a prop and allowed a stone to fall, which, striking Sloan, killed him on the spot
