Donkin, John, 24 Sep 1896, aged 50, Platelayer, Deceased and another man were tipping trucks on the end of the rubbish heap; Donkin, with the view of speaking to some person at the bottom of the heap, walked forward to the extreme edge of the tip, when the ground gave way, and he was precipitated amongst the hot rubbish [Inspection made & inquest attended]

      

Lillico, Robert, 12 Mar 1903, (accident: 10 Mar 1903), aged 47, Quarryman, Deceased and another quarryman were engaged on a ledge in a quarry in the Magnesian Limestone working off clay from a fissure and filling it into wagons when a mass of the clay, weighing about a ton, relieved by an unobserved crack, fell from a few feet above upon him.
