Cheshire, William, 04 Mar 1908, aged 48, Miner, he tried to bar down a piece of ironstone, but failing in his purpose, began to cut the stone out beneath; the upper piece then fell suddenly upon him

      

Cranmer, Charles, 11 Nov 1886, aged 45, Miner, fall of stone from a smooth back while he was drilling a hole in it ; it fell without warning

      

Dawn, Henry, 04 Sep 1911, aged 33, Miner, he was filling loose stone away from the entrance of an old bord and close to the stook he and his mate were working at; he had no right to do this, and while so engaged a large piece of ironstone fell from the corner of the pillar and so injured him that he died the same day; the stone was overhanging and came off from a slip and a cut from an old shot; when found, his pick was in his hand, and it is very likely he had been working loose stone from the pillar side; this accident should not have occurred

Hodgson, William, 20 Mar 1896, aged 43, Deputy, While he and another deputy were repairing an old airway a fall took place and put their lights out. Deceased lost his way and got into some "stythe" and was suffocated [More information ...]

      

Hollingsworth, William, 10 May 1888, aged 53, Miner, while baring down stone a large fall took place which drew out some timber, and it fell on him

      

Ingleden, John, 26 Oct 1904, aged 53, Miner, he was drilling a hole when a large piece of stone suddenly burst away off the corner of his place and killed him instantly

      

Johnson, Ralph, 17 Oct 1899, aged 31, Miner, He was turning away a place, the roof of which was supported by timber, and had fired a shot, which knocked out the piece of stone and punch prop supporting the baulk. He went into the place and did not notice this, and the top suddenly fell upon and killed him. [More information ...]

      

Marshall, Thomas, 13 May 1910, aged 39, Miner, He was engaged in barring down some stone from the face when another large stone suddenly burst a-way from between two backs, and falling on him inflicted injuries from which he died in a few hours

      

Moyle, John, 31 Mar 1883, (accident: 28 Mar 1883), aged 52, Miner, severely crushed by a fall of stone while barring it down

Roberts, Charles, 14 Jun 1877, aged 35, Miner, fall of ironstone ; a shot had been fired which did not bring the stone down, he was preparing for another shot without first having set a prop or stay under the overhanging piece, when it suddenly fell

      

Spurgeon, George, 19 Jul 1904, (accident: 30 Jun 1904), aged 43, Miner, head and back injured and thigh fractured; he had fired a shot, and on going back found some bad top stone; he was taking this down when some more fell and caught him

      

Woodroof, William, 07 Sep 1883, (accident: 07 Aug 1883), aged 57, Miner, broken leg and ankle and other bruises by a fall of stone while baring
