Bennett, Joseph, 10 Jul 1903, aged 36, Labourer, fell a distance of 40 feet when removing scaffolding on the top of some kilns which were being erected; died the same day

      

Brotherton, Edward, 28 Aug 1884, aged 35, Joiner, while descending the pit Calow's patent grip came into play, arresting the cage, which afterwards fell away and threw deceased out, they fell about 60 yards [More information ...]

      

Fowler, Albert Edwin, 19 May 1911, aged 27, Drill Changer, this was a very simple accident and might have been prevented by the exercise of a little more care and better judgment; while deceased and a driver were drawing by means of a horse a heavy drilling machine with compressed air, engine attached, the tram on which it was being conveyed got off the way at a turn; in trying to get the tram on to the road again it canted over when the horse pulled away and crushed Fowler against a stone pack wall.

      

Goodburn, George T., 09 Jan 1906, aged 27, Labourer, When engaged moving a partially loaded truck with a lever, a second truck was run forward, and he was caught and crushed between the buffers of the two. [More information ...]

      

Heathcote, Arthur, 22 Mar 1906, aged 24, Labourer, He was crushed against an upright support of the heapstead by a railway truck on which he was riding. He had been cautioned just previously not to ride on the trucks. [More information ...]

      

Hodgson, Samuel, 29 Nov 1876, aged 28, Labourer, fell from a set of trucks which was being pushed into siding by a locomotive engine, and was killed

      

Kitchener, James, 16 Aug 1914, (accident: 14 Aug 1914), aged 21, Horse Driver, deceased was driving a set of 7 full tubs on a road dipping outbye ½ inch per yard and at that place narrow; the tail chain by which the horse was attached to the first tub became detached; he went behind the horse and attempted to attach the chain while the set was in motion; in this he failed, and he stood at the side to allow the set to pass when he was crushed between the tubs and the side, and he died from his injuries two days later

Rundle, John Thomas, 28 Apr 1888, aged 25, Shot Firer, he had returned to a shot which he had thought had missed fire, when it unexpectedly exploded, Buried: Liverton, St Michael on 01 May 1888 {NBI}

      

Taylor, John, 07 Sep 1874, aged 30, Engineman, a Guibal fan unexpectedly started while deceased was inside, Buried: Liverton, St Michael on 10 Sep 1874 {NBI}

      

Thompson, John George, 28 Dec 1914, (accident: 21 Dec 1914), aged 15, Horse Driver, deceased was leading his pony inbye at the commencement of the shift, and at a door in the roadway he overtook another horse proceeding in the same direction, which kicked out and struck him on the head, causing a compound fracture of the frontal bone of the skull; he died seven days afterwards

      

Trattles, Thomas H., 22 Feb 1892, (accident: 09 Oct 1891, 12:00 p.m., 6th hour of shift), aged 35, Shifter, died from the effects of a fall of shale while assisting a deputy to set some timbers on the 9th October last
