| | | | |  | | Pounder, Thomas, 02 Jan 1917, aged 40, Onsetter, accidentally fell to the bottom of the shaft; "He was about to place a full tub into the cage and he did not notice the cage was at the bottom of the shaft. Before he could recover himself the tub disappeared and he also fell to the bottom of the shaft. His dead body was recovered about 1 p.m." [N. Echo Wed 03 Jan 1917] |
