Bell, John, 09 Apr 1868, aged 39, Horse Driver, crushed between waggons at bank

     

Bradwell, Robert James, 12 Jan 1934, aged 48, killed by a fall of stone

     

Graham, John William, 04 Nov 1941, aged 16, died in the Mossy Burn Drift; he had been driving four full tubs from the flat to the landing, some time later he was discovered with his head wedged between the caunch side and the first tub; he had suffered serious injuries and died before he could be got to the surface, Buried: Tow Law Cemetery

      

Pearce, Robert, 19 May 1881, aged 20, Joiner, while he was being lowered down an old shaft the winch got out of gear, and he was precipitated to the bottom; the winch was a very bad one and sadly out of repair [More information ...]
