Dixon, William, 01 Sep 1904, (accident: 30 Aug 1904), aged 21, Miner, Deceased brought into the mine some loose gunpowder in a bag and was in the act of transferring it to his tin bottle when a spark from his candle ignited it. The Jury at the inquest added the following rider to their verdict of accidental death: "The Jury urge that powder should not be taken into the drift otherwise than as provided by statute, and that cartridges should only be made in a proper place outside the drift provided for the purpose."
