Bannon, John, 29 Mar 1883, aged 34, Miner, fall of some ground which he knew to be unsafe, and which he himself should have taken down instead of working beneath it

      

Gawne, John Thomas, 10 Dec 1904, aged 40, Miner, scaffolding gave way and they fell into water [More information ...]

      

Gawne, Thomas, 30 Jan 1892, 10:30 a.m., 5th hour of shift, aged 26, Labourer, he was working at the foot of a heap of "stuff," resting on a "bunning" or "stull" (platform) and was causing it to run down into the level; while he was in the act of loosening a large stone it rolled down and caught him in the stomach causing internal injuries which resulted in his death three days afterwards

Kermode, John, 23 Sep 1881, aged 63, Miner, explosion of a charge of powder while tamping the hole with an iron bar; it is not known exactly how much tamping had been put in, but the evidence went to show that it was not much

      

Partington, Thomas, 21 Aug 1888, aged 49, Machine Man, he sat upon a weak hand-rail, it gave way and he fell 21 feet and broke his spine
