Cain, William M., 13 Jul 1894, aged 36, Shaft sinker, fall of a bucket (kibble), which became detached from the spring-hook at the end of the winding rope

      

Davies, Walter, 13 May 1893, 10:00 a.m., 1st hour of shift, aged 30, Miner, He was standing on a platform in the shaft, and was endeavouring to unscrew a nut with a spanner; the spanner appears to have slipped, and the man fell with it down the part of the shaft used for the capstan rope; the pitman in charge admitted that it was through his neglect that the shaft was not covered over in such a manner to prevent such an accident

      

Kelly, Frederick, 05 Jun 1896, aged 28, Carpenter, He inadvertently put his head over the fence of a shaft, near which he was at work, and was struck by the descending skip. Killed on the spot

      

Kelly, William, 17 Mar 1899, aged 69, Miner, a stone which fell unexpectedly from a place well within his reach struck him and caused him to fall down a "ore-pass" to a depth of 16 feet; instantly killed
