Notes:

1914 - Eighteen Inch, Plashetts, Thirty Inch seams abandoned

1914, Apr 04 - The Falstone Coal Company Ltd., offered for sale, Falstone Colliery. Together with this they were selling 9 colliery built houses (5 at Mouseyhaugh, 4 at Stanners Burn). The mine was a drift mine - 840 yards long. The main coal seam was between 4' 6" and 4' 9", and the Royalty extended over 3,000 acres of virgin territory. The lease was for 30 years from the 1st May 1908 and it was estimated that there was at least 15m tons of coal in the Main Seam alone, this coal being mainly household coal. There were 2 other workable seams and 2' 6" fireclay. The screens were adjacent to Falstone Station and the colliery was described as "quite new" the development has cost £10,000.
