Thomlinson, J. R., 18 Sep 1900, (accident: 13 Sep 1900), aged 30, Mine Manger, Deceased was attempting to get on a loaded bogie as it was slowly moving up the inclined engine plane, when he slipped and the bogie passed over him, inflicting injuries from which he died five days later. The workmen had been accustomed to riding instead of walking up the incline — a distance of 300 yards — but the practice has now been wisely prohibited. [Inspection made & inquest attended]
