Names of those killed at this colliery

Please note that this collection of names is by no means complete!

Ball, George Frederick, 03 Apr 1902, aged 19, Sinker, the deceased and his father were engaged in sinking a small shaft which had reached a depth of 15 fathoms ; after lighting two shots they were being drawn to bank in a small "kibble" and when about 10 fathoms up the deceased by some means fell out ; he was probably killed by the fall ; the shots went off as the father was getting out of the kibble at the surface, and it was with difficulty that he was prevented from descending before the shots had exploded

Douglas, Harrison, Jul 1915, aged 69, Miner, died from injuries received, fall of roof

Murphy, David, 15 Aug 1910, aged 20, Wagon Trimmer, crushed by wagons
