Bell, Thomas, 1913, [approximate date]

      

Brown, Robert, 1923, [approximate date]

      

Forster, Frederick, 27 Nov 1895, 7:15 a.m., 4th hour of shift, aged 22, Hewer, in a place which the deputy had twice during the shift passed as safe, the deceased was working, when some stone fell from "slips" in the roof and crushed him

     

Philipson, John, 20 Mar 1883, aged 42, Miner, fall of roof while; he was engaged filling a waggon at face of level a heavy fall suddenly took place, Buried: St. Peter's Churchyard, Sparty Lea

      

Robinson, J. William, 16 Feb 1897, aged 19, Stoneman, Fall of stone. The chargeman and the deceased had been working together, shot firing &c. when the former had to go and visit other men leaving Robinson to rid or clear the shots. Before leaving he examined the place. On his return he found a stone had fallen from "jacks" and "greasy partings" and caught the deceased [Inspection made & inquest attended]

      

Teesdale, Harland, 24 Jul 1894, 12:00 p.m., 6th hour of shift, aged 28, Shunter, Deceased was shunting waggons with a horse, and on trying to pass between the buffers when the waggons were too close, was caught and crushed [Inspection made & inquest attended]

      

Wilkinson, William, 31 Oct 1911, aged 26, Hewer, killed by a fall of stone

      

Wilson, Thomas Henry, 27 Aug 1906, aged 54, Deputy, Deceased and his marrow were laying plates in a rolleyway when he complained of pain in the region of his heart. He rested and then recommenced work, but again feeling the pain prepared to go home, when he suddenly collapsed and died. There was no suggestion of any accident. An inquest was held, at which medical evidence was given that he had been attended for pleurisy and pericarditis, and that death was due to heart disease, and so the jury found.
