He passed between 15 empty 3-ton wood-buffered wagons and 10 others of the same type, separated by an interval of 4 feet. A locomotive owned by the Maryport & Carlisle Railway Co. came forward pushing 40 wagons, and, in obedience to signals and after whistling, the driver closed up gently with the 10 wagons and they moved forward against the 15 and deceased was caught |

| | | | | | | Wilson, Joseph, 18 Oct 1904, (accident: 03 Oct 1904), aged 18, Trailer, Deceased complained on the evening of October 3, when he went home from the pit, of pain in his left foot, which he ascribed to a bit of coal having got into his clog. He worked the next day, still complaining of pain, and afterwards was off work till his death, which was due to blood poisoning, which medical evidence at the inquest ascribed to injury to the top of the left instep. The Jury found death was due to "accidental injury to foot." |
