Official Notice

In the Court of Railway and Canal Commission.

In the matter of the Mining Industry Act, 1926, Part I, and The Coal Mines Act, 1930, Part II, and in the matter of the application of the Backworth Collieries Limited and The East Holywell Coal Company Limited.

In pursuance of an Order of the Court of Railway & Canal Commission made on the 22nd day of February, 1932, notice is hereby given that an application has been made to the Court for the confirmation of a Scheme for the total Amalgamation of the Backworth Collieries Limited and the East Holywell Coal Company Limited under the provisions of Part I of the Mining Industry Act, 1926, and of Part II of the Coal Mines Act, 1930.

Copies of the said Application and Scheme can be seen at the registered office of the Backworth Collieries Limited, at Milburn House, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, or at the registered office of the East Holywell Coal Company Limited, Collingwood Buildings, Collingwood Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, or at the offices of their respective Solicitors, Messrs. Dees & Thompson, of 117, Pilgrim Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and Messrs. Leadbitter & Harvey, of 15, Eldon Square, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, or at the office of the Registrar of the Court of Railway & Canal Commission, Room 772, Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London, W.C. 2, and copies thereof may be made.

Persons who have any objection to the said Scheme must state their objections and the grounds thereof in writing, together with their names and addresses, and particulars of the nature of their interest, to the Registrar of the Court of Railway & Canal Commission, Room 772, Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London, W.C.2, on or before the 17th March, 1932.

The Court will consider every such objection and will give notice to every objector who is found to be entitled to appear at the hearing of the application.
